learn more about my character, thomas!

Thomas is one of the main characters in my story, Dedicated to The Kidz I Fought. Thomas is preparing for the Fall 2008 school year to begin--working as a Junior regular & honors English teacher at the local school, Crested Butte Community School. He quite enjoys his job, so he's glad to get back into the swing of things.

Though he can't help but worry about Erin, his 2nd cousin that's in his care. They're incredibly withdrawn, & with their 7th grade year starting up, he hopes they can make this a good, new start to another school year.

He's thankful that, during this economically trying time, he's secure & entirely owns the home he lives in. Food being pretty easy to ration considering he's only feeding himself & Erin. Though his pseudo sister, Veronica, struggles incredibly with working as an independent mechanic with 3 mouthes to feed, not including herself. He does his best to pitch in to help her where he can, which he faces a lot of push back on her account, but the last thing he wants is for her to struggle even more than she already is.

Due to work, taking care of Erin, & personal projects--Thomas tends to neglect his social life. Sure, he goes out with Veronica on Saturdays to drink at local bars, but other than that he...really doesn't know anybody else in their small mountain town that he hasn't taught, taught their kids, or works with at the school.

Veronica wants him to live a little, which she's been desperately trying to get him to do for...almost the entire time they've known each other. He just worries he's just not as...interesting as Veronica makes him out to be.
